We need you! Chances are you succeeded
because of help from other people. There are many ways in which
to get involved at various commitment levels. You can make a difference
for families in Anaheim by investing just an hour or two of your
time. Contact us
if you would like to help and look over our volunteer
application so that we can help you find the best fit!
Receptionist/Office
Work: Each day we need dependable, friendly office assistants
to answer phones, help with mailings, greet walk-ins, and assist
with correspondence and bookkeeping. We hope to coordinate a regular
schedule of volunteers to cover the front from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday. We provide training and offer morning, mid-day
and closing shifts to meet the needs of every volunteer.
Class Facilitators: 10-week session
commitment, bilingual helpful. Must complete formal facilitator
training.
Community Action
Council: In order to best serve this neighborhood, we need
the guidance of its residents. We are currently seeking a team leader
to build this crucial component. Must be a resident of Anaheim.
Mentors:
Come alongside and share your life experience with a woman who needs
a friend and encourager. Must complete formal mentor training
and be able to commit to 6 months participation.
Curriculum Development:
If you have a background in life coaching, secondary education,
vocational training, or career counseling we need your input in
helping us strengthen that portion of our program.
Our Kids, Our Schools: The problem
isn’t “those” kids or “those” schools—it’s
about our kids, in our schools, and improving them together. Volunteer
up to 90 minutes once a week for friendship and fun with kids in
four Anaheim public schools.
Facility Management: Help us make
a good first impression to those that visit us at the Harbor House,
by keeping up with basic landscaping, inside décor and janitorial
services.
Special Events: Throughout the year
we organize a variety of one-time events and programs for specific
groups. We’d love your help in planning and implementing these
events.
